Irina has enjoyed a successful career as a solo artist for over twenty years. Jore Marjaranta is a singer-songwriter who, in addition to his solo career, is known from bands such as Leningrad Cowboys and Guitar Slingers.
Irina rose instantly to the top tier of Finnish artists with her debut album Vahva in 2004 and has remained there for two decades. In addition to her artist career, Irina is well known to Finns as one of the vocalists on the TV show Elämäni biisi. She has released eight studio albums, the most notable being her double-Emma-winning debut Vahva, as well as the platinum-selling Älä riko kaavaa (2005) and Liiba laaba (2007). Her latest studio album Haluun olla yksin (2021) includes one of the biggest hits of her career. The title track has spent an impressive 121 weeks on the radio Top 200 chart, including nine weeks at number one, and has already gathered over 6.5 million streams—earning a platinum certification.
Jore Marjaranta began his solo career in 2000 and has released seven albums. He is also known as one of the vocalists on Elämäni biisi. Jore’s well-known songs include “Haaveet kaatuu” from the film Bad Boys, “Miten pelko lähtee” from Me and Morrison, as well as “Niin kaunis on Helsinki nyt,” “Tiedän rakkaus elää,” “Tavallista elämää,” “Kävelet tähtiin päin,” “Huomaan vain sinut,” and “Mikset sä jäänyt.”
Jore first became known in the early 1990s as a member of Leningrad Cowboys, touring the world and performing at the 1994 MTV Video Music Awards in New York and at Helsinki Senate Square with the Russian Red Army Choir in 1993.
This year marks over 40 years since the release gig of Jore’s first band The Clap at Helsinki’s legendary Tavastia Club. His other bands have included the Albert Järvinen Band and Guitar Slingers.
